On Tuesday, March 5, El Paso’s Primary Election took place. About 11% (57,676 out of 503,059) of El Paso registered voters cast their ballots. As we head into the May Runoff Elections and the November General Election, it is critical that EVERYONE gets out and vote. Your vote matters and will have an impact on El Paso and the future of our community.

El Paso County Sheriff:

Candidates Robert “Bobby” Flores and Oscar Ugarte will head to a runoff race for El Paso County Sherriff on May 28 since neither candidate received more than 50% of the votes. Flores received 24% of the votes, and Ugarte received 43.4%. 

El Paso County Attorney:

Christina Sanchez received 69% of the votes and will serve as the next County Attorney for El Paso.

State House Representative:

State House Representative candidates will also head to a runoff race on May 28, with Vincent Perez receiving 38.6% of the vote and Norma Chavez receiving 31.7 %.
